The Dramatically Inspired Works (DIW) Vocals are a dynamic ensemble of anointed and exceptionally gifted singers whose ministry through music has touched audiences for more than 20 years. Founded in 2005 by playwright and director Denisee Johnson-Gaston, the group was created to enhance each theatrical production by delivering the Gospel through powerful, spirit-filled music.

Comprised primarily of vocalists from the Toledo area, the DIW Vocals bring passion, excellence, and heartfelt worship to every performance. Their uplifting harmonies and inspiring songs create a moving experience that deepens the message of each production.

The ensemble is blessed to have Arielle Johnson serving as both Musical Director and one of its featured soloists. Throughout the years, DIW has collaborated with an outstanding group of accomplished musicians whose talent and dedication have helped shape its distinctive sound. A few of the past and present musicians include Phillip Conley, Rev. Mark Smaw, Rev. Michael Johnson, Johnny Willis, Wayne Harris, Mike Darby, Chris McQueen, Brian Lee, Marquise Baker, and Isaiah Johnson.

Dramatically Inspired Works has also been honored to feature many exceptional guest soloists, including The Difference, Darius Coleman, Pamela Martin (Detroit), Tawann Gaston, Regina Wilson (Columbus), Charlene Ransom, and many other gifted artists. Together, these musicians and vocalists have played an integral role in the success and ministry of DIW’s productions, using their talents to glorify God and inspire lives through the power of music.
