ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Denisee Johnson-Gaston is the founder, playwright, producer, and director of Dramatically Inspired Works (DIW).
For more than 20 years, she has used the performing arts as a ministry, creating inspirational theater that shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ through compelling stories, music, and messages of hope.
Inspired by her love of Broadway and gospel music, Denisee founded DIW to provide opportunities for people of all ages to discover and use their God-given talents while presenting productions that entertain, inspire, and strengthen faith.
Her passion for drama ministry was nurtured by her mother Betty and father, the late Rev. I. J. Johnson, planting pastor along with her current pastor Rev. C.L. Johnson, of the St. Mark Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio; their encouragement helped shape her calling.
Denisee enjoys singing, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Her prayer is that every DIW production leaves audiences encouraged, inspired, and drawn closer to Christ.
